Goose Bumps

Ok so right up front I will confess that this blog is really just an email that I sent to our entire launch and prayer team for Fry Road... And it really annoys me when people write long emails and call them blogs. But I just cannot think of a better way to share what God is doing for The MET @ Fry, so here goes. I will ask for forgiveness at the end:

I keep getting chill bumps… Seriously, about every 15 minutes I think about what has happened in the launching of The MET @ Fry –just today, and I get all goose bumpy. Let me explain…

It all started this morning, in my Bible study time, I read a not-so-encouraging Proverb:
A sluggard does not plow in season;
so at harvest time he looks but finds nothing.
    Proverbs 20:4

Like I said, not so encouraging… But then I thought about what happens when we overcome our sluggard-ness and plow in season- we find what we need at harvest time- we rejoice in God’s provision. It got me to thinking… its plowing season right now!

We hold our first preview services in just over 8 weeks, and launch to the public 3 weeks later. Hard work now, putting our backs into the plow, will reap a huge harvest as The MET @ Fry opens to connect with people in the Fry/290 area! Lives are going to change, families will be impacted for generations, and God will be glorified! If that doesn’t get you excited, please check for a pulse before you continue reading!

As if that was not enough, here is what else happened:

-First thing this morning, we finalized our “church-in-a-box” order: all of our equipment, trailers, directional signs, children’s worship (in A GYM!), preschool classrooms (in the other GYM!), coffee station, and parking lot equipment. It hit me… This is really happening!

-Then I talked to yet another person who is experiencing what a real relationship with God looks like and he talked about needing to live for more, and how being a part of the Fry Road team is a part of that. God always moves in us first, and then uses us to connect with others!

-I came back from lunch to a crew of people assembling bags for The Big Give, which kicks off this Sunday. God is going to do huge things in the lives of The MET members during The Big Give in order to do even BIGGER things in the lives of people in the Fry/290 area and around the world! It humbles and amazes me to be a part!

-Then, I received the collateral for our 2 Month prayer strategy for the core launch team at Fry… simply put, they look great, are cool, and will be an incredible reminder to pray for God to use us in ways that ONLY HE can take credit for at Fry. We are giving these out at the December 7 incubator service and core team leadership meeting- so don’t miss that.

-Lastly, as the Fry Road Staff started planning for this last incubator service, I was again humbled that God would choose to use me, and them, AND YOU to tell people He loves them.

This service on Sunday December 7 9:30, will be incredible as we gather together in the choir rehearsal room again to worship God and hear from His word. We will immediately roll into a Core Team leadership training time during the 11:00 service hour. The staff has some great plans to make this a valuable, fun, and impacting time together. Plus- you get to be a part of our 2-Month prayer strategy!

So yes, I am asking EVERYONE who is planning to go to Fry Road to make whatever plans, changes, or additions to your schedule to be in the Choir Rehearsal room December 7, during the 9:30 and 11:00 am services. This will be the most important time we will have had together yet! And be crucial in effectively launching The MET @ Fry.

If you are not sure about whether you are going to Fry Road, please be there on December 7, I guarantee we will get your questions answered and get you excited about connecting people at Fry/290 to the real Jesus in a real way!

Just got the chill bumps again! We are almost there team… IT”S TIME TO PLOW!

Like I said, please forgive me...

Meet You on Fry Road,

B
