RSSWhat is RSS?

RSS (Rich Site Summary or Really Simple Syndication) is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Blogs, news sites and other regularly updated online sites syndicate content as an RSS feed for users.

Why use RSS?

RSS allows users to regularly receive the content that is of interest to them, without the need to go out and locate the information. This saves you lots of time because there is no longer a need to visit each web site individually. In addition, subscribing to RSS Feeds of The MET in particular allow you to choose the information you would like to receive, when new content is posted. Ultimately it gives you more control of the type of content you receive from The MET. Want to know what's going on in Preschool? Subscribe to the RSS feed of the Preschool Blog and be notified any time new information is posted from the Preschool Ministry.

How do I subscribe to an RSS feed?

There are numerous RSS Feed Readers now available – and they’re FREE! Some of the popular feed readers are web-based feed readers. They include Google Reader, My Yahoo, and Bloglines to name a few. In addition there are also feed readers that are platform specific.

Once you choose the reader that you want, you’re on your way. Just look for an RSS link ( ) on your favorite web sites. Once you subscribe to a site’s RSS you will begin to see their updates in your reader. It’s that simple!
