The Vocal Arts Ministry at The MET exists to first and foremost glorify God but also to help vocalists experience the thrill of connecting their heart to their songs and discovering the freedom of true vocal expression. The Vocal Arts groups at The MET consist of the Worship Choir, Event Choir, Praise Teams and Kidz Praise.

Worship Choirs

The MET has one worship choir that is divided into three teams to lead our weekend services. There are NO auditions required to be in this choir and each choir member is asked to commit to a full semester (Spring, Summer or Fall.) Music reading skills are desired but not a necessity. The purpose of this choir is to lead the congregation in worship for the weekend services. This choir also sings and serves at semester mission events in the Houston area.

Event Choir

Each year we have mass choir events—such as The Gathering and Christmas at The MET. Rehearsals to learn the music generally start 4-6 weeks before the concert.

Praise Teams

Praise Teams are made up of small groups of three (Soprano, Alto and Tenor) who are auditioned at the beginning of our three semesters – Spring, Summer and Fall. These teams serve in the capacity of our weekend services and other Worship Arts events. Only those who are MET members and have served consistently in the Worship Choir for six months may audition for the Praise Team.

TRUTH Student Worship

The Truth Band consists of instrumentalists and vocalists who lead the Truth Student Ministry services each Wednesday night. Our purpose is to create an environment that is both a pleasing offering of worship to our risen Savior as well as an exciting environment that students will find enjoyable and will want to invite their friends to come experience.

Requirements for the Truth band are that you are active and involved in the Truth Student Ministry as well as being able to commit to Sunday afternoon rehearsals (1:30–3:00 p.m. in the Truth Student Building.) This band is by audition only. If you are in grades 7-12 and are interested in playing or singing in the TRUTH band please contact us using the form below.
